Do you love pie? Are you visiting or live in the Central Florida area? Then you must come out for the town of Celebration, Florida, Great American Pie Festival! Running April 26th and 27th, 2014. This festival is in its thirteenth year and doesn’t disappoint. They have a schedule full of fun, tasty events including: The Never-Ending Pie Buffet, featuring award-winning pie, ice cream, toppings, and beverages.
The pies will be from Bakers Square Restaurants and Pies, Legendary Baking, Kroger’s Private Selection, Publix Super Markets, Inc., Village Inn, Wick’s Pies, Harlan Bakeries, Winn-Dixie and Cabot Cheese. Along with Publix ice cream and the Duncan Hines Comstock/Wilderness toppings! Tickets for the Never Ending Pie Buffet will be on sale at the door for $10/adults and $5/seniors 65+ and children 6-12.
Children and adults alike can make their own pies at the Comstock Creation Station. There will be pie shell decorating, pie art, take your photo at the Paramount Pictures Labor Day Booth, chef hat decorating and many more pie activities to enjoy. There will be a Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Private Selection. New to the festival this year is the Apron Contest – Saturday, April 26 at 4:30PM! Wear your best apron. Winner receives a $250 Emile Henry gift certificate. See Mary, The Pie Lady at the Pietopia Stage for more details! Cost for the children’s area, which includes the crafts and bouncy houses was $10/child. The Pietopia Demonstration Stage sponsored by Village Inn and Bakers Square Restaurants features entertainment and baking demonstration by chefs from across the country and was free to all attendees. 2:30PM – Susan Reid, King Arthur Flour, tells how to make a great pie crust using King Arthur Flour!
3:30PM – Iron Pie Maker Challenge. Get your Team together and you can compete! See the Pie Lady on Stage!
4:30PM – The Apron Contest – Get out your cutest apron, strut your stuff and the best apron (strutting counts) will win a $250 Emile Henry Gift Certificate
5:30PM – Chef Joe DiPaolo, Duncan Hines, shows how to put your own spin on the filling, while using Comstock Wilderness pie fillings!
6:30PM – APC National Pie Championships Amateur Award Ceremony!
